HALTON FARNWORTH HORNETS arlfc CHILD PROTECTION STATEMENT The HFH Club believe that having someone to turn to is a vital step in safeguarding children and young people. Signed on behalf of the HFH Club by the HFH Club Chairman: Nicky Nelson
The Halton Farnworth Hornets (HFH) Club believes children have a right to have fun and be safe in the sport activities they, or their parents or careers choose.
The HFH Club also believe that parents have the right to know that the club or organisation to which they trust their children is safe.
The Halton Farnworth Hornets Club is a prime example of this type of quality sporting organisation.
Following guidelines laid down by the NSPCC FULL STOP Campaign and the by the National Governing Body of Rugby League, the HFH Club aim to make sport a safe and positive experience for children and young people.
Ensuring that there is someone identified who is there to listen and understand what to do and who to contact is a vital element.
That's why the HFH Club currently have not one but SIX Child Welfare Officers (CWO), all of whom have attended a "Safeguarding & Protecting Children" course and a "Time to Listen" course.
The HFH Club is also actively encouraging Team Coaches/Administrative Managers, etc, to attend a "Safeguarding & Protecting Children" course.
Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks are an essential and ongoing process within the operational components of the HFH Club.
The HFH Club has set out the following Core Values and Principles for Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children:
« Child Centred
« Rooted to Child Development
« Focused on Outcomes for Children
« Holistic Approach
« Ensuring Equality and Opportunity
« Involving Children and Families
« Building on Strengths as well as Identifying Difficulties
« A Continuous Process Not an Event
