BARLA has always sought to procure insurance that protects the whole Association - all teams, all age groups, all games at all levels.
Experience over many years shows the only way to ensure everybody within the game is adequately insured is to arrange cover on a mandatory basis. The existing mandatory public liability policy provides protection for:

1. The Association itself
2. Clubs
3. Leagues
4. Players (other than "player to player" claims)
5. Committee members
6. Coaches: and
7. Volunteers (including first aiders)

ACE European Group, with whom the existing Public Liability and Personal Accident policies are arranged, are one the World's largest insurers and have unquestionable financial strength and ability to pay any claims.

The BARLA Public Liability policy covers any Rugby League activity conducted b y the Club including sports and social activities and products supplied by the Club.

Cover also includes tenants' liability for Clubs that do not own their own ground. Clubs with separate Public Liability policies that do not undertake any non-Rugby activities should, in the first instant, contact Bartlett Insurance Brokers. They will be able to provide confirmation of cover to assist in providing evidence that the other policy is not necessary.
