The upgrading of the car park at Wilmere Lane Sports Ground (WLSG) has now come to a conclusion.
The car park has been re-laid and line marked parking zones have been designated for each vehicle, in order to maximise the total car park area. The new gates have been fitted and WLSG is now taking a bit of shape.
The upgrading of the car park will surely enhance the WLSG 'appeal-ability ' to our visiting opposition friends.
Please remember:
Do NOT park in the yellow hatched areas. These have been specifically marked out for Ambulance and disability parking, plus an emergency services access point across the car park.

Halton Borough Council have embarked on a project to enhance the
car parking facilities at Wilmere Lane Sports Ground.......
........."HOME" of the Halton Farnworth Hornets arlfc.
As many of you will have seen, the contractors have already started on site (Tuesday 6th May 2008), with the programme of works expected to last for approximately twelve weeks, i.e. completion by 25th July 2008.
In addition to a slight increase in total car parking area, the whole surface will be re-laid with Tarmacadum and new surface water drains installed. Additionally, the car park area will be 'white lined' to indicate car parking spaces, with this including 'hatched' areas designated for emergency service vehicles parking and entrance/exit points.
The car park will also operate a 'One Way' system to alleviate any potential accidents.
Brand new fabricated vehicular double gates will be fitted (in the same location as the existing), with the addition of a separate single gate for access by pedestrians. This will alleviate the current problem of vehicles and people utilising the same entrance/exit point.
With the planting of new trees along the front hedge grove, and the up grading of the whole car park, these works will certainly enhance the already vast potential for the Wilmere Lane Sports Ground.
