20 Apr 08, Halton F H v's Rylands

After last weekend’s blank fixture date, the HFH U8's got back in action today when they entertained near neighbours Ryland’s.

Today, all the players took to the field with one main objective, and that was to play to their strengths.. As a result, HFH probably played their best all round TEAM performance of the season so far.

The defence on show was outstanding with everyone working so hard to keep Ryland’s out. With the HFH defence on top, Ryland’s only managed to cross for two tries late on in the second half.

In attack HFH scored some cracking tries. The most pleasing today in attack was the way in which the HFH U8’s ran onto the ball and this running caused Ryland’s defence to always be on the back foot.

A special mention must go to Calum O'Neill who crossed for his first try in the HFH colours.

Well done to all concerned.

27 Apr 08, Halton F H v's Blackbrook

What a game!

This eagerly awaited game between two strong teams didn’t fail to disappoint. In wet and wild conditions both teams played some brilliant rugby.

From a HFH point of view every player that took to the field can be so proud of their efforts .

With the weather being as it was, HFH u8’s kept their attack's nice and simple hoping to minimise any mistakes.

Both sets of defences worked really hard today. Right across the board all Hornets players contributed to their defensive duties.

The game was an absolute belter. Congratulations go to all involved.

04 May 08, Burtonwood v's Halton F H

HFH U8’s travelled the short distance to Burtonwood for their last away fixture of the season.

Due to holidays and illness, the HFH U8’s only travelled with NINE players.

Yet again, the weather was rotten with the rain pouring down most of the time. The Hornets started nicely and with an emphasis on steadily getting through their sets. As a result, the HFH U8’s crossed for four more tries.

The Hornets defences were water tight and time after time, the HFH U8’s players once again forced Burtonwood to turn the ball over on the last tackle.

At halftime, a decision was made to leave the HFH U8’s team on the field without their coach for the second half.

And oh boy, what a show they put on!

Every single player was well organised with players listening to each other and everyone working brilliantly for one another.

The second half produced five more tries, with Richard Hartley grabbing his first try in HFH colours.

All the parents and coaches were really impressed with what they had witnessed in that illustrious second half.

Well done to you all.
