The HFH hosting of the Warrington & Halton Schools Pilot Rugby League Cup Tournament Finals at Wilmere Lane Sports Ground - "HOME" of the Halton Farnworth Hornets arlfc, was a hugh success.

 "My thanks go to the Halton Farnworth Hornets club for making the Finals on Tuesday such a professional looking event for the pupils taking part. There were a number of comments from the visitors from Warrington who said the ground looked great.

Thank you to the team of volunteers, who dressed the sight up and made it extra special for those playing in the finals".

 

The postponement of the Year 9 Premier Final did not deter from the spectacle of the other finals.

The Halton Farnworth Hornets have been approached with a view to hosting a new schools Rugby League event.

 

The Warrington and Halton Schools Pilot Rugby League Cup Tournament.

 

This initiative has been driven by the RFL's North West Regional Development Manager, Matt Birkett, who is working closely with Brian Chambers (Warrington Wolves Foundation) and Karen Drake (Halton Schools Competition Manager).

 

There will be two separate competitions.

 

The 'PREMIER' Cup

and

The 'EMERGING' Cup.

 

In total there are some thirteen schools entered into the competition, resulting in a total of forty six teams.

 

Year 8 and Year 10 Finals are to be played at Crosfields Club on Tuesday 13th May 2008.

 

Year 7 and Year 9 Finals are to be played at Wilmere Lane Sports Ground - Home of the Halton Farnworth Hornets - on Tuesday 20th May 2008.
