UPDATE01 [19/02/08 - HFH Volunteers sought]
HFH Volunteers are now required to help ensure that once again, the Annual SRL Regional Tournament Games are a complete success and something for which the HFH Club & HBC can be proud of.
It is hoped that the response of the HFH Volunteers will be as strong as on the previous two years, when the contribution of the volunteers was incalculable. HFH Volunteers have been paramount in providing the services needed to make an event of this nature run smoothly.
To give up your own free time voluntary, to work and help contribute to the running operations of these games, is a testament to the dedication of the HFH Volunteer.
Can all HFH Volunteers please register their availability to any committee officer. Please indicate if you are available either Saturday morning/afternoon only or the full day, and similar for Sunday.
The proposed SRL Regional Games weekend schedule means that reduced HFH volunteers will be required Sunday morning. With early morning activities taking place at Leigh Recreational Ground, the focus then switches to the Stobart Stadium Halton.
Should circumstances change and matches can not be played at either of these locations, affected games will be transferred to Wilmere Lane Sports Ground. It is hoped that in such a situation, HFH Volunteers who were not earmarked for offering their services on the Sunday, will swing into operation and assist those HFH Volunteers who did.
Please try to set aside some time and help the HFH Club create another exceptional weekend of University Amateur Rugby League in Halton.

UPDATE02 [27/02/08 - Car Parking]
Wade Deacon High School, Birchfield Road, Widnes, WA8 7TD,
will be used as a holding Car Park zone for all student players, Team Management personnel, family, friends and supporters travelling to Halton.
Your motor vehicles will be permitted to park inside the school grounds and a Halton Farnworth Hornets (HFH) Volunteer will be there to direct you in.
Halton Borough Council (HBC) have arranged for a shuttle bus service to transport players, Team Management personnel, family, friends and supporters, etc, from Wade Deacon High School directly to Wilmere Lane Sports Ground (Home of the Halton Farnworth Hornets arlfc).
A shuttle bus service will operate from outside the school grounds, to the front of the building, at the road side bus lay-by.
This service will operate throughout the day commencing from approximately 9:30am onwards on the Saturday morning.
The shuttle bus service (several double decker buses) will continue to transport people to Wilmere Lane Sports Ground right up to kick-off time (first two games start at 1:00pm).
After kick-off time, the shuttle buses will relocate to Wilmere Lane Sports Ground, in readiness for transporting people back to the Wade Deacon High School.
IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT ALL MOTOR VEHICLES ARE PARKED AT
THE WADE DEACON HIGH SCHOOL GROUNDS.
THIS WILL AVOID CONGESTION IN WILMERE LANE ITSELF
AND THE WILMERE LANE SPORTS GROUND CAR PARK.

UPDATE03 [22/03/08 - Success Story]
Once again, and on the third consecutive year of hosting the Student Rugby League Regional Championship Games, the Halton Farnworth Hornets can once again say it was a total success.
With the rain just about holding off, the Regional Teams produced some fascinating rugby skills to impress the on looking spectators. The standard of rugby on display has most certainly improved over the last three years, and the HFH fraternity can bear witness to this.
The mixture of the HFH & HBC 'Partnership' working, learning to improve various things from previous years, and a commitment to detail and delivery, could possibly have created the ambience from which improvements on the field have been waiting to flow!
Well those ingredients have gradually been coming together over the past three years and now the quality is starting to ooze with confidence.
