15 May 2007 - Dean Bell at Wilmere Lane Playing Fields
UPDATE01 [13/06/07 - Verdict!]
The Positive Coaching Workshop, as presented by Dean Bell and Susanne Taylor, certainly had the attendee coaches caught up in the performance.
There was a positive turn out of HFH and none HFH coaches for the workshop, and even though the presentation ran from 7:00pm to 10:00pm - exactly - all those present were glad they made the effort to set the time aside.
The Halton Farnworth Hornets, would, on behalf of all the coaches at the workshop, publicly wish to thank Dean and Susanne for their tremendous efforts and skillful presentation.
The knowledge they expressed can only benefit the coaches, the kids/guys they coach and ultimately the game of rugby league itself.
From a club perspective, this was a quality workshop and representative of future workshops/courses envisaged at Wilmere Lane, not just for HFH coaches but for all coaches throughout the local community.

Halton Farnworth Hornets are proud to announce that Dean Bell and Susanne Taylor will be presenting a POSITIVE COACHING Workshop at Wilmere Lane Playing Fields.
This will take place on TUESDAY 12th JUNE 2007. It will operate from 7:00pm to 10:00pm, with a tea/coffee break at 8:30pm.
The Workshop has been arranged primarily for HFH coaches but has been opened up to any club coach. There is a restriction on capacity of numbers so it's on a 'first come, first served' basis.
The principle aims of the Workshop are:
1) Look at the effects of a positive approach to coaching.
2) Identify where this approach fits into the National Occupational Standards in Coaching, Teaching & Instructing.
3) Explore ways to put the positive approach into practice.
4) Share good practice.
Dean Bell returns to Australia at the end of June 2007 so this is a one-off opportunity for coaches to brushes up on their coaching techniques.
Should you require any further information and you are a HFH coach, please contact Peter Giblin.
All other coaches should contact Jane Rhodes, Halton Sports Development Officer, on 0151 907 8300.
